RECENT- 

April 30th - Martinsville PTO provided breakfast for teacher appreciation week. Teachers were also treated to a lunch that week from La Careta.  

May 1 - Nacogdoches Chamber and SFASU Leaders of Tomorrow Convocation - Kayden Siers, AJ Riley, Emma DeRise


May 1 - Martinsville Booster Club Athletic Banquet. Junior and High School Athletes were recognized for their athletic year. Thank you to the booster club and parents that have volunteered their time this year.







May 4th - SFASU Steel Band

May 8th - EOC Algebra 

May 9th - EOC Biology

May 10th - EOC US History

May 10th - FFA Banquet was led by FFA Officers.  The meal was prepared and served by parent volunteers (catfish, beans, coleslaw, fries, and desserts).  Students were recognized for their accomplishments and achievements. Officers for the 2018-2019 school year were installed.  



May 11th - Sierra Andrews placed 5th in the high jump at the state competition. 






May 11th - Daddy-Daughter Dance was held at the cafeteria. Lots of fun was had by all.  Thank you to Elementary Sheila Cobb and volunteers for making this event special.

This is a project where the 5th grade students learn about the Free Enterprise system we have here in the U.S. They get to create their own product and sell it. Each group will decide how much to make and the cost of their product. They calculate expenses and profit. We will be set up outside the gym on the sidewalk facing the courtyard. 

These students will also be doing commercials and ads in which Mrs. Hays is assisting them with.

Recent events:

April 2-4 - We had a good turnout for prekindergarten and kindergarten registration. I believe Mrs. Tina said about 17 signed up during the two-day registration. 

April 2 - Lady Pirates defeated Burkeville 15-0 (game rescheduled due to weather)

April 3 - Pirates traveled to Joaquin but game was rescheduled for Wednesday due to the weather. Pirates lost 0-14. 

April 4 - Stephen F. Austin CDE Invitational. Results from FFA sponsors, Sam Cobb and Will Cauthen: “All our teams did great! 
Savannah Lott was 15th high point individual in floriculture.  Alyssa Hurst was 13th high point individual in horse.  Livestock team was 59th overall. Poultry was 40th overall. Horse was 13th overall . Floriculture was 9th overall.

Next contest is Area at Sam Houston State University. Awesome job to all teams today.”

From the Captain - Week of April 2

Greetings Pirate Nation! We hope that you and your families are doing well. Spring is a busy time and we will do our best to provide information for testing, awards, calendars and graduation for you as we receive them. 

I would like to give a shout out to the Lady Pirate softball team. On March 30, against Shelbyville, the Lady Pirates were down 4-1 in the last inning. The bats came alive and the ladies brought home the win, 5-4.

Recent:

March 26 - 2nd and 3rd graders at Martinsville are preparing a garden and learning all about plants, including why they are so important to us.  The garden study is called Learn, Grow, Eat & Go!  Thanks to Jennifer Lathan for getting this project started.  So much fun!🍅🥦🌶️🍆🌽🥕






March 26 - Junior High Boys win district championship at district track meet. Girls take second. 


March 27 - Martinsville One Act Play received several awards last night but did not advance to the next round. They will serve as alternate. List of awards below:

March 27, 29, 30 - Pirates dropped two decisions to Shelbyville and Timpson this week. Lady Pirates lost double-header to Woden but picked up a 7th inning win, 5-4 in Shelbyville.
